Postcards
"My name is Josh, and my name has flown on a dozen
spacecraft. The Planetary Society and NASA have cooperated to make that
happen. These opportunities have always involved a microdot or CD. It's
been a lot of fun and very educational but I want to offer you
something better. I want to help you send a Postcard To Space."
Postcards are an ideal medium for
short exchanges. They are direct, fun and instantly recognizable. Send
a note to the cosmos! Order a Postcard Kit. You can draw, write, stipple, crayon, scribble in binary or anything your imagination can put in a 3" x 3" square.
Drop your completed Postcard in the
mail. It will be scanned and added to our Internet streams, then
printed onto the silver skin of the STREET
space ring during construction. When the craft is in space in 2008, a
camera and digital display will photograph your Postcard against the
backdrop of space, and email the new picture to you. During flight, you
will be able to track the spacecraft online and see it from the ground.
Return cards by January 31, 2008 for inclusion on the STREET ring.
Arrangements are being made to fly some physical postcards into space,
in CanSats or on suborbital rocketplanes. Postcards To Space is
actively seeking new flight opportunities.
Postcards To Space is 100% First Amendment compliant. "Congress
shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of

As an American company, it isn't just a good idea, it's our founding
Right. P2S will not censor your Postcard in any way, you are both free
to do as you will and at liberty to show your work on our space
sculpture.
The postcards are currently being
hosted as a Flickr stream. Currently, returned Postcards are public
domain for promotional purposes, you're card will appear online and in
public. Postcards To Space will have an upgraded website winter 2007,
allowing you to upload digital postcards, build mosaics and explore
other's Postcards.
